Our Priorities

These strategic priorities are based on community assessments and newcomer surveys conducted in Rocky View and Wheatland. Each priority will have a working team comprised of organizations, community members and newcomers who are passionate about achieving their priority's outcomes.

  • What does this look like?

    • Newcomers can access the information and resources they need to achieve their goals.

    • Service providers and community organizations know here to direct newcomers.

  • What does this look like?

    • Newcomers are welcomed into a community that offers opportunities for connection with community groups, residents, and neighbours.

    • Newcomers are able to find and/or build a sustainable supportive network.

  • What does this look like?

    • Newcomers have more input on the organizations and processes that affect them.

    • Programs and services have been adapted to be more inclusive and fill existing gaps.

  • What does this look like?

    • Newcomers have opportunities to work in an area that utilizes their skills.

    • Employers recognize the benefits of hiring newcomers.

    • Newcomers have increased professional connections in their community.

    • Newcomers have a clearer path to opportunities for educational and professional growth and advancement.
